Muddy Paws Rescue is a foster family-based organization that brings dogs from its shelter partners and places them in foster homes for an average of two weeks. During this time, the animals can decompress and live their best lives, allowing the organization to learn more about them so that they can make a solid match with a loving family.
The sponsorship is part of the ACANA® pet food team’s Forever Project, an initiative created to support pet parents and the introduction of a new food it developed, ACANA Rescue Care for Adopted Dogs.
The ACANA® Pet Food team created Project Forever because they recognized the need for a program that helped ensure successful pet adoption. A recent survey conducted by ACANA’s Pet Feeding Team found that 54% of people who adopted rescue dogs did not anticipate how stressed their new dog would be when they were would suit their new home. This program gives new pet parents the best possible start with ACANA premium pet food, as well as a host of resources including training, behavioral counseling and more. Because in the end, it’s all worth it – the same survey found that four in five people can’t imagine life without their puppies.
“We are grateful to ACANA pet food for sponsoring this transport and we are delighted to be a part of its Forever project,” said Rachel Ziering, founding executive director of Muddy Paws Rescue. “Transportation is an important part of our job and it takes a lot of time, effort and money. Each of the 30 puppies who arrived this weekend will now have a second chance to find a home thanks to the ACANA pet food team. Support!”
The Forever project also includes a collaboration with a well-known peloton instructor and a passionate “dog mom”. Jess sims. As part of her engagement, Sims offered her advice on how to establish a routine after rescuing a new dog and how to make activity part of her life. She even hosted a live lesson on 25 august who focused on how pet owners can bond with their dog.
Sims also saved his two dogs – Sienna Grace and Shiloh – from Muddy Paws Rescue.
“I am delighted to be working with the ACANA Pet Food Team, supporting Muddy Paws Rescue, an organization that means so much to me, and highlighting the importance of saving pets,” said Jess sims. “Although technically I saved Sienna Grace and Shiloh, they really saved me, and there are so many great animals out there waiting to be placed in their homes forever.”
Muddy Paws Rescue is a network partner of Best Friends Animal Society®, an organization that works with more than 3,300 animal welfare and shelter partners nationwide. The Forever Project also includes an official multi-year pet food sponsorship with Best Friends Animal Society.
