GREAT FALLS, Mt. – Drool in the Pool is going even further this year with new activities for your four-legged friend and a water sports raffle.
A variety of activities are coming for the year from Electric City Water Park, including peanut butter painting, DIY rope tying, and hopping for hot dogs for your pet.
Funds raised at the event go toward animal care for the City of Great Falls Animal Shelter and Park and Recreation programs.
This year, Drool in the Pool will take place on Saturday August 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“There’s something for every animal, even if they don’t like water,” said Laramie Smovir, volunteer coordinator at the City of Great Falls Animal Shelter. “Besides, people with dogs who might not enjoy the event can stop by without their pet and participate in some of the activities, learn a bit from the expert presentations and get to know some of the animal friendly vendors we have here in Great Falls.
To attend, animals must have proof of current vaccinations, including rabies, polio and distemper.
Admission to the event is $5 per animal and $2 per human.
The final draw for the City of Great Falls Animal Sanctuary Water Sports Raffle will take place at the event.
Two water sports packages will be raffled off.
The first package will include an Impulse 10 kayak and the second package will include a Wulf inflatable paddle board.
Both packages include a Yeti cooler, two Yeti mugs, a life jacket, a dry bag and a $250 Scheels gift card.
A $5 ticket gives you two chances to win and tickets can be purchased at the City of Great Falls Animal Shelter, Mansfield Center box office or Scheels.
