RAMSGATE, KENT, UK, November 2, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Kent Home & Roost small business and their customers raised over £ 2,000 for animal welfare charities over the weekend of Black Friday in 2020. This year they are aiming higher and looking for nominations from charities that need help now.

The family business Home & Roost handcraft solid timber pet and wildlife homes in their workshops near Ramsgate in Kent.

“All companies know that we are nothing without our customers. “Said Director Alan Brimm” And here at Home and Roost we have two groups of customers: our human customers and the animals we build homes for. “

“Last year we decided that during Black Friday weekend we would focus on helping our animal customers, donating 10% of all sales revenue to welfare charities. animals instead of offering discounts. “

The weekend was a huge success and despite the lack of a discount the company recorded its best selling weekend and was able to donate over £ 2,000 to animal welfare charities.

“This year, we’re upping the stakes and pledging 50% or all of the proceeds from the Black Friday weekend November 26-29 to animal welfare charities,” Alan said.

Home and Roost are asking the public to decide which charities will receive donations.

Last year, more than 1,500 people nominated for charities and donations went to five worthy winners:

The Beloved Rabbits – rescuing and relocating rabbits in central Scotland.
Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital – which rescues and cares for wild birds and large and small mammals in Sussex.
Cats Protection – which have taken in 1.5 million people in their 90-year history.
Cavy Corner – rescuing, treating and relocating guinea pigs in the Doncaster area
Newent Hedgehog Rescue – rescuing and caring for hedgehogs in Gloucestershire.

Applications for this year’s charities are now open. Home and Roost are seeking nominations for local animal welfare charities that could benefit from a donation.

“At Home and Roost, we are fortunate to be able to work with animal and animal lovers every day. “Said Alan” And being able to give back to those who need it most every Black Friday is a special privilege. We are very excited about the event.
