Hillsborough County – Hillsborough County offices and most facilities closed for Thanksgiving holiday

The collection of garbage, recyclables and garden waste resumes the regular schedule Friday

Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26, for Thanksgiving.

Garbage

There is no garbage, recyclable, or yard waste collection on Thanksgiving Day, and all disposal sites will be closed. For customers with a Thursday pickup day, normal service will resume on the next scheduled pickup day for these items.

Parks

All conservation parks and skate parks will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. These parks will be open on Friday. All dog parks and wading pools will be open Thursday and Friday.

COVID-19 sites

All COVID-19 coronaviruses PUBLIC trial, vaccination, and antibody therapy treatment sites will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following Thanksgiving.

  • All Hillsborough County Public Libraries Co-operative Libraries

  • All county recreation centers.

  • Michael S. Merrill Pet Resource Center (A limited number of animal safety and code enforcement officers will be available for emergencies only. Submit a request through the Request Pet button at the addressHCFLGov.net/AtYourService.)

  • The Development Services Center

  • Sunshine Line transportation service

  • The Brandon Utilities Customer Service Center (County water and sewer emergency calls can be made at (813) 744-5600.)

  • Emergency Rental Assistance Program call center at (866) 375-9114

OPEN – Friday November 26

  • All conservation parks.

  • All skateparks, paddling pools and dog parks

  • Hillsborough County solid waste collection services will resume as usual. In addition, the Southeast County Landfill, Northwest and South County Transfer Stations, Resource Recovery Facility, Community Collection Centers and Garden Waste Treatment Facilities will reopen as per a normal schedule.
