Pet of the Week at Burke County Animal Services | Local news

Many dogs and cats are available for adoption at Burke County Animal Services.

Animal shelter technician Trinity Johnson wants all of the animals in the shelter to find fur loving homes. These are the animals she chose to highlight this week.

“Thanos is the Dog of the Week this week,” Johnson said. “He’s a big, friendly boy. Thanos is around 2 years old and has tons of love to share. He loves to run and play. He really enjoys playing with toys and having someone to play with. He has 80 love books and wants to share it with a family this Christmas.

All animals brought to animal services come from different backgrounds and are in different physical conditions. Agency staff ensure that all animals are cared for while they are at the shelter and in preparation for adoption into their permanent homes.

Animal services try to accommodate as many animals as possible, and with the help of volunteers from the foster homes, they are able to care for more animals.

“This week’s Cat of the Week is Paws,” Johnson said. “He is a very handsome long-haired cat who is looking for his forever home. Paws is about 2 years old. He is a very playful boy who loves to play with toys and make new friends. He gets along well with them. other cats and would love to meet his new family before the holidays.
