SAN DIEGO – Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. will host its first Sustainability Supplier Summit on September 22 to connect its merchandising team with sustainable pet products. This supports the retailer’s mission to increase its assortment of sustainable pet products to 50% of all products by the end of 2025.
The summit will be held virtually in partnership with ECRM and RangeMe, two companies working to connect product manufacturers and suppliers to retailers.
“We look forward to welcoming suppliers who share our commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of the pets, people and planet we share,” said Nick Konat, director of merchandising at Petco. “As a health and wellness company, we are keenly aware of our collective impact on the natural resources of our planet and we are committed to actively promoting positive change within our company and our industry. The Petco Sustainability Supplier Summit will help us accelerate efforts to increase our assortment of sustainable products in close partnership with brands and manufacturers also passionate about improving lives. “
Petco has established five pillars of sustainability for the company, which prioritize products manufactured with sustainability in mind, products containing sustainably sourced materials and ingredients, products with environmentally friendly or responsible packaging, and products that talk about animal welfare.
Vendors interested in attending the Summit can submit their product information at rangeme.com/petcosustainability by midnight on August 11.
