NEENAH (NBC 26) – If you’ve recently driven Main Street in Neenah, you might recognize this house.
Every time Halloween arrives, Mike and Heather Fleming fill their backyard with hundreds of unique decorations, from tombstones to skeletons … and even a mad scientist.
“There are a few that are pretty rare,” Mike said. “No one else has them around.”
The Flemish have installed the exhibit in their home in Neenah for the past six years and had been doing so in Appleton for about four years before, when they also lived there.
“The neighbors were upset when we told them we were moving,” Mike said with a laugh.
This year, the Flemish have decided to try and capitalize on the annual attention their house receives by putting up large posters asking for donations to the Neenah Animal Shelter.
“They can’t take volunteers,” Mike said. “So we’re looking to make their day brighter with all the donations we receive, we’re going to give it directly to them. Animals are important in people’s lives, they improve people’s lives. So when you can help an animal or shelter, please.
The Fleming House is located at 634 Main Street in Neenah. You can send donations directly to the shelter online here, username Cashapp $ Nivagg or to James Wheeler via Facebook Pay.
