Ulster County Animal Sanctuaries – Hudson Valley One

Covid is not over but life seems to be opening up in small and large increments.

Ulster County has two animal sanctuaries, Catskill Animal Sanctuary and Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Both are open to visitors in May.

For the past two years, these shrines have closed to the public while struggling, like all of us, to find a way to make ends meet. The organizations work together whenever possible with the common goal of preserving the lives of some lucky creatures that have found their way to these safe houses. It is through the perseverance, hard work, dedication and love of staff and volunteers that they have been able to survive this time.

Mother’s Day weekend they will reopen. Visitors must make reservations to visit these two shrines.

Resident animals are expected to be curious and happy to see visitors back.

Thanks to Veronica from Catskill Animal Sanctuary and Kat from Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, I recently photographed some faces, feathers and tails.
